Have you ever heard of World Toilet Day?
World Toilet Day has been an annual United Nations observance since 2013, though it was first celebrated in 2001 by the World Toilet Organization. This global event is held every year on November 19 to celebrate toilets and raise awareness for the 3.5 billion people living without access to safely managed sanitation.
On World Toilet Day, we highlight the critical role of proper sanitation and hygiene. Toilets aren’t just about convenience—they save lives, protect our health, and preserve our dignity.

1. Toilets are a place for peace 🧡
3.5 billion people live without a safe toilet. All over the world, sanitation is under threat from conflict, climate change, disasters and neglect.
2. Toilets are a place for protection 💛
By creating a barrier between us and our waste, sanitation is essential for public and environmental health. But when toilet systems are inadequate, damaged or broken, pollution spreads and deadly diseases get unleashed.
3. Toilets are a place for progress 💙
Sanitation is a human right. It protects everyone’s dignity, and especially transforms the lives of women and girls. More investment and better governance of sanitation are critical for a fairer, more peaceful world.

World Toilet Day 2024: Poster Design Activity for Kids
To mark World Toilet Day this year, we’re inviting kids ages 5-12 to join our Poster Design Activity and share their creativity on the theme: “Toilet is a Place for PEACE.”
This activity is a fun, engaging way for children to learn about the importance of safe toilets and the role they play in health, dignity, and peace worldwide. 🧡
Terms & Conditions for Poster Design Activity

Eligibility: The Poster Design Activity is open to children aged 5-12.

Submission Deadline: All posters must be submitted by November 20, 2024. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Theme: Posters should creatively represent the theme, "Toilet is a Place for PEACE."

Submission Format: Posters may be hand-drawn or digital. All artwork should be submitted in a high-quality digital format via email or in person.

Display and Use of Artwork: By submitting a poster, participants and their guardians grant us permission to feature their artwork on our social media channels and promotional materials.

Copyright: The participant retains copyright over their artwork; however, by submitting, they grant us the non-exclusive right to use, display, and promote the artwork for World Toilet Day activities.

Originality: All artwork submitted must be original and created by the participant. Plagiarism or copying is prohibited.

Privacy: Personal information collected for the activity (name, age, and submission) will be used solely for the purpose of this activity and will not be shared with third parties.

Judging and Prizes (if applicable): If prizes are offered, winners will be selected based on creativity, adherence to the theme, and visual appeal. Judges' decisions are final.
